Shoaib Akthar has made a provocative claim, and it has been determined that Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma, will face off against England in the semi-finals today. Both teams are vying for the opportunity to advance to the finals, where they will face Pakistan. Fans of cricket in every region of the world are looking forward to seeing India and Pakistan duke it out on the sport’s grandest platform in the finals of the World Cup.

Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar wants a rematch between the Asian arch-rivals after Virat Kohli’s batting masterclass. The former Pakistani pacer has a strong belief that England will somehow spoil Team India’s party in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup on Thursday. Shoaib Akhtar played for Pakistan during the country’s time in the sport.

Shoaib Akthar believes that England can pull off a historic victory.

“I’d like to see India and Pakistan play each other again. But I believe that Pakistan will make the same mistakes in 2022 that it did in the past. Jaise 1992 ka World Cup jeetey they, New Zealand ko harakey final mein phochey they, waise he mujhey lagta hai England India ko phainta lagakey, wo phoch jayga final mein, and phir hum unko harakey World Cup leke wapis ajayngey, waise he mujhey lagta hai England (A rematch between India and Pakistan is something I would like to see, but I believe history will be repeated in 2022. In the same way that Pakistan won the World Cup in 1992 by beating New Zealand to enter the final, England will beat India to enter the summit match and claim victory for themselves. And then we (the Pakistan team) will overcome England in the final to bring the World Cup trophy back home with us,” Akhtar said in an interview with ARY News.

The former Pakistani bowler who is now a full-time cricket pundit stated that England will thrash Team India in the second semi-final if Jos Buttler’s side bats second. He also stated that England will win the series. “India is chasing Grega down” (Team India would like to chase in the semi-final). In some way, England is also affected by the strain. If England bats second, I think they will absolutely decimate India, and whomever chases the target, whether it be India or England, I think it will be lot easier to win the game. Isme sabsey zyada maza kisko ayga – ICC aur broadcaster ko! (Both the International Cricket Council and the organisation that is in charge of broadcasting the World Cup will enjoy this match),” Akhtar continued.
