After losing the WTC final, Rohit Sharma made a big announcement about the ODI World Cup.

India lost to Australia by 209 runs in the World Test Championship final at The Oval on Sunday. After the game, India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, talked about how his team was thinking and what they were going to do. India was trying to reach a huge score of 444, but they were bowled out for only 234 on Day 5. Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland each took four wickets. Team India didn’t win another ICC prize because of this loss, so they’re still waiting after 10 years. India’s last ICC title was the Champions title, which they won in 2013 while MS Dhoni was their captain.

Rohit told the media after the loss that the team will have a whole new way of thinking and playing at the ODI World Cup, which will be held in India later this year.

“In October, when the World Cup is held, we will try to play differently. We’ll try to give people freedom and not feel like we have to win every game. We’ve been thinking that this match or event is important, but nothing is happening. So, it’s clear that we’ll have to think and act in a different way. Rohit said, “Our message and main focus will be on trying to do something different.”

Australia gave India a big goal of 444 runs to reach, and Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill made a good start by putting together a 40-run opening stand. But Australia’s bowling attack controlled India’s batting order so much that they couldn’t even make it to lunch on Day 5.

“If you look at how Gill and I started the second inning, you can see that our whole goal was to hit, play, and put pressure on them. So, after 10 overs, we had 60 runs. But if you play with that attitude, you’ll probably lose. Then there are the opinions and people who talk about losing focus. There isn’t a break in attention. We just want to play something different. We’d like to try something new. We have played in so many ICC events, but we haven’t won any of them yet. So, we’re going to try to play differently and do something new,” he said.

Australia won the one big men’s cricket title they had never won before. Pat Cummins’ team is now in a good mood as they head into the first Ashes Test against England next week.

But because of this, India, which lost to New Zealand in the first 2021 WTC final in Southampton, is still looking for its first international trophy in ten years.
