Best XI of Indian cricketers who didn’t make India’s New Zealand and Bangladesh selections.

Published:

Last Monday, India named their touring squads for New Zealand and Bangladesh.

After T20 World Cup 2022, India will play two series in New Zealand and Bangladesh. Bangladesh will play three ODIs and two Tests while New Zealand will play T20Is and ODIs.

Three different Indian captains will head these teams. Shikhar Dhawan will head the ODI team while Hardik Pandya leads the T20I squad. In Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma will lead ODIs and Tests.

Yash Dayal, Kuldeep Sen, and Rajat Patidar made the squads after strong domestic performances. Several others have been forgotten despite having great years for their state teams.

Prithvi Shaw has scored many domestic runs in the past year. Since the 2021 England tour, he has not been summoned. Shaw hopes to make the 2023 World Cup.

Devdutt Padikkal won IPL Emerging Player of the Season in 2020 and debuted internationally in 2021. He hasn’t played internationally since 2021.

Padikkal is a talented left-handed batter and hopes to make a comeback soon.

WriddhimanSaha is unlikely to play for India again because of Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik. Fans should notice that he scored 317 runs in 11 matches for the IPL 2022 champion Gujarat Titans.

Saha will bat with Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Rana, Venkatesh Iyer, and Krunal Pandya.

Sharma scored 426 runs in IPL 2022 for SunRisers Hyderabad. Rana debuted in Sri Lanka last year but soon lost his spot. Krunal has also fallen out of favour after Sri Lanka.

Iyer, who was supposed to replace Hardik Pandya, was left off all four squads. Hardik’s great play since returning has helped.

Iyer may have been India’s left-handed middle-order batsman this year.

Ignored XI is a side of India’s best cricketers who were not selected for upcoming series against New Zealand and Bangladesh.
