The second edition of the Legends Cricket Trophy – LCT 2024 is all set to start from Friday (March 8) in all new 90-Ball format instead of the T20 format used in the inaugural edition.

Apart from the introduction of the 90-ball format, the new season will also see a new power play and strategic time-outs rule being deployed in the LCT season 2, which is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka.

The first season of the Legend Cricket Trophy, played in the 20-over format, was held in Ghaziabad, India, from March 22 to 30 last year. Indore Knights and Guwahati Avengers were declared joint winners of the inaugural season after the final was washed out. How does 90 ball format work in Legends Cricket Trophy 2024? Each team has to deploy five bowlers, who are allowed to bowl three overs. One bowler, however, will be allowed to bowl a fourth over, but for that the fielding team captain has to notify both the umpire and the opposing team about his choice of the bowler by the 60th ball.

The captain’s choice of the bowler will be a decision strategically influenced by both performance and strategy. Each over must be complete within four minutes and 30 seconds, with a 30-second grace period. What is the power play rule in Legend Cricket Trophy? There are two power plays for each innings with the bowling power play lasting from balls 1 to 24, and the batting power play of one over can be triggered anytime after the 60th ball.
