The hosts struggled to get runs but ended the day strongly in Test cricket.

Day 2 of the India vs. Australia Test match:

#3 Captain Rohit in charge
Rohit Sharma lead India on day two after a bright and breezy start. Rohit defended well and used his feet well to keep the spinners at bay in difficult batting conditions.

He played a calm innings as India beat Australia. He elegantly lofted a chip drive over mid-off to reach 100 and basked in the plaudits.

Pat Cummins dismissed him beautifully after tea. The fresh ball pitched middle and off and bent somewhat to knock out the off stump. His innings put India ahead and may win the match.
#2 Todd Murphy succeeds. Todd Murphy’s debut was great.
In the first Test at Nagpur, Todd Murphy was excellent in his debut. Indian hitters have been generous to debutant spinners. Todd Murphy, debuting, took KL Rahul late on day one.

He took huge wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli. He then dismissed KS Bharat for a five-wicket debut.
He outbawled Nathan Lyon and beat Ashton Agar.

#1 Ravindra Jadeja—runs follow wickets.

Jadeja led the Australian onslaught after Rohit was removed. He boosted India’s advantage to 144 with a determined half-century.

Axar Patel, another recent batsman, helped him. As the hosts lead, Axar scored 50.
