Donovan Ferreira and Dewald Brevis are South African cricket stars and close friends. Despite their youth, the Titans combo has played a lot of domestic cricket together.
Donovan Ferreira thinks he and Dewald Brevis might play together for a long time, either for the Titans or elsewhere. He said:
“Since joining the Titans, Dewald Brevis and I have bonded. We’ve been busy on and off the field. Because cricket is our work, it’s wonderful to have friends because there’s more to life than cricket.” We’ve had dinners and spent time at each other’s places. I told him that if we play together for a long period, we need to create a good relationship.”
Donovan Ferreira on national call-ups
After losing the T20 World Cup to the Netherlands, South Africa has being urged to call up younger players.
South African cricket needs a shake-up, and the first two SA20 games have demonstrated that players like Dewald Brevis and Donovan Ferreira are likely ready for international cricket.
Ferreira wants to be in the present and control what he can. Said:
“Myself and Dewald have been saying we can only focus on our performances and scoring runs. Because selectors will notice if you win games for your squad.” I finish my team. I enjoy it since every day every game is different. If I keep doing that, the rest should work out.”
Donovan Ferreira’s spectacular 82*(40) and 1/28 against the Durban Super Giants on Wednesday showed he will be useful for the Proteas if he is called up soon.
