Alex Hales will replace injured Jonny Bairstow in the England squad for the men’s T20 World Cup next month. Hales was removed from all England squads in April of that year after failing an ECB recreational drug test a second time. Hales last competed for England in March of that year.
He now has the opportunity to make a comeback at the expense of Bairstow, who was forced to withdraw from the competition due to a strange golf injury at the age of 33. In addition, Hales has been included in the team that will compete in Pakistan before the World Cup in Australia.
