“European football is behind South American” – Quilmes mocks Kylian Mbappe

Published:

Quilmes mocked Kylian Mbappe after Argentina won the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Lionel Messi and co. won 4-2 on penalties after 120 minutes ended 3-3. Argentina won its third World Cup in 1986.

Mbappe claimed before the competition that South American football isn’t as evolved as Europe’s.

“In Europe, we play high-level matches among ourselves, like the Nations League. We’re ready for the World Cup, whereas Brazil and Argentina aren’t. Europe’s football is superior. That’s why Europeans won the recent World Cups.”

Argentina beat France in the World Cup final on Sunday (December 18). Quilmes posted a mocking response to Mbappe’s words. The image read:

Europe’s football isn’t as developed as South America’s.
While Argentina got their revenge by beating Neymar and PSG, the 24-year-old may have been comparing the level of football on the two continents.
Players from throughout the world dream of playing for great teams in the UEFA Champions League.

Argentina alone has a large contingent of players playing in Europe. Only two of their World Cup-winning players play outside Europe.

Kylian Mbappe is world-famous

Kylian Mbappe may not have won back-to-back World Cups, but his talents are tremendous.

The Frenchman played a major role in France’s 2018 World Cup victory and scored in the final, while Messi needed five tries.
The 24-year-old was Les Bleus’ catalyst in Qatar. Mbappe’s hat-trick forced a shootout, which France lost.

Young Frenchman has accomplished much. If he keeps this up, he could become one of the greatest players ever.
