The fifth and final Twenty20 International match between the two teams was played in Florida on Sunday, August 13, and marked the end of the Indian National Cricket Team’s visit in the West Indies. After losing to the Men in Maroon in the previous game, the team lead by Hardik Pandya had poor records.
India won a three-match ODI series as well as red-ball cricket. One Test match was won by the Rohit Sharma-led team, and another was tied due to rain, giving India a 1-0 victory. In the 50-over format, the Men in Blue overwhelmed the guests and won 2-1.
With the bat, Suryakumar Yadav shone.
Earlier, after deciding to bat first, the visitors scored a total of 165 runs for the defeat. The top-ranked T20I batter, Suryakumar Yadav, performed admirably with the bat, hitting 61 runs off 45 balls thanks to four boundaries and three sixes. For the team, Tilak Varma scored 27 runs off 18 balls.
With two overs left, the Windies squad successfully surpassed the goal. In dominating the opposition’s bowlers, Brendon King amassed an unbroken 85 runs off 55 deliveries. Supporting from the other end, Nicholas Pooran scored 47 runs off of 35 balls before being caught by Tilak Varma.

In the last T20I game, the Rovman Powell-led squad easily defeated India by eight wickets to win the series 3-2. This is their first series win over the Men in Blue in bilateral series with a minimum of three matches across all three forms of cricket.

India’s loss to the West Indies was its first in 17 years.
India have never lost three matches in a row in a single T20I series prior to this one.
Hard To Put Into Words – Rovman Powell
Windies captain Rovman Powell acknowledged his happiness with the series win against the elite squad on their home turf in a post-match interview.
It’s challenging to describe. Adjectives fall short in capturing how we feel. The men are overjoyed. The series is significant, Powell said.
We need to win the series against India at home because of all that is going on in West Indies cricket, he continued.
The West Indies were left off of the Top 23 in Australia’s 2022 T20 World Cup. The team will also not be participating in the 2023 ODI World Cup due to a disappointing qualifying campaign in Zimbabwe.
