In a speech about India hosting the upcoming ICC World Cup in 2023, Greg Chappell, a former head coach of India, predicted that Rohit Sharma’s team would begin the tournament as the favorites on home territory.

Greg Chappell stated that India will have the home field advantage in the ICC World Cup 2023 while speaking to Revsportz.

The Men in Blue are always confident in their ability to handle any challenges brought their them by the opposition at home, according to Chappell, who recalled his time as a member of the team management.

“Home advantage makes a significant difference, and I am confident that India will start the match as the favorite. When I was the coach of India, one thing I noticed was that the Indians are very accustomed to handling any hurdles that any rival throws at them at home. I could see it clearly while seated inside the Indian changing room and gazing outside. The fact that current Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid, is very strong has not changed. Under home circumstances, I believe they have a decent chance, Greg Chappell remarked.

If events don’t proceed as planned: Before the ICC World Cup 2023, Greg Chappell issues a warning to Indian fans.
The 75-year-old remarked that winning ICC competitions is not simple and that Indian supporters should be cautious but upbeat.

However, winning these competitions is never simple. Therefore, if you are an Indian fan, I would advise caution. Optimistic caution is advised. Even though India will have a great opportunity, you shouldn’t be upset if things don’t go your way because anything can happen in sports. With the IPL, the aura of the circumstances have gradually become less mysterious, and some of the other teams, like Australia and England, are very good teams,” Chappell continued.

England and New Zealand will play in the opening game of the ICC World Cup 2023 on October 5 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. However, on October 8 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, India under the leadership of Rohit Sharma will play their season opener against Australia.

By winning the ICC World Cup 2023 in front of their home audience, The Men in Blue will be eager to end their trophy drought.
