After India’s historic victory over Pakistan, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya broke down in tears while addressing to the broadcast team. On this memorable day, a tearful Pandya remembered his late father and dedicated a tough victory to him.
The Baroda all-rounder, who performed at both bowling and batting, made significant contributions to the victory. Three important wickets taken by Pandya in the first innings prevented Pakistan from scoring. With a useful 40-run knock, he later joined Virat Kohli in a game-defining 113-run partnership that helped India win.
Following the completion of the game, Hardik Pandya spoke with the TV crew and said:
“I cannot do the sacrifices my father did for me. I adore my son, but I’m not sure whether I can do it all for him in the same way that my father did for me. Without knowing I would end up where I am now, he changed cities to fulfil a six and a half year old boy’s desires. So, this is for him.”
