A number of pictures from the Chennai Super Kings’ pre-IPL 2023 camp at Chepauk have been shared on social media, and Ravindra Jadeja is in quite a few of them. These pictures say a lot about how easily Jadeja seems to have gotten back into the team. But the India all-rounder and the four-time league champions had to say and hear a lot of words before everything was fine.
People who know what’s going on in the CSK camp told Cricadda that Jadeja, who was said to have left the team hotel in Mumbai at the end of last season, had a long, honest conversation with captain MS Dhoni, who is the most important person in the franchise. Before the “air of misunderstanding” was cleared, he also met with CEO Kasi Viswanathan alone. Viswanathan wouldn’t say what he talked about, but he did say that everyone had free, honest, and long conversations.
The honest talk happened a long time ago, long before Jadeja joined the team. It’s clear that he told them what bothered him and what he wanted in the future. Dhoni and Viswanathan, on the other hand, are thought to have told the truth about what happened last season, when Jadeja was made captain just two days before the start of the 2022 season and then taken off the team in the middle of the season after a string of losses. Even though CSK is a four-time champion and usually one of the best teams in the league, they only won four games and lost ten. This put them in ninth place out of 10 teams.
Even though no one in the CSK camp was willing to talk about what happened in the two one-on-one meetings, it is known that Jadeja was upset because he lost the captaincy and wasn’t able to play as well as he could have. In the 10 games he played last season, he scored 116 runs with an average of 19 and took five wickets with an economy rate of 7.52. These numbers don’t do one of the best all-rounders in the game justice, but they do show that he is good at a lot of different things.
Dhoni’s comment about him being captain may have also made him angry. “I think Jadeja knew last year that this year he would be captain. For the first two games, I kept an eye on what he did and then left him alone. After that, I made him promise to make his own choices and be responsible for them. When you are captain, you have to do a lot of things. But as the number of tasks grew, it messed with his mind. I think being captain made it harder for him to prepare and play “After a May 1 game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Dhoni said this.
Eventually, he was told that being captain may have been too much for him and that this may have hurt his performance. It is known that the all-rounder knew what was going on. Jadeja was in Chennai on March 22 for the third and last ODI between India and Australia. He stayed in the city and joined the CSK camp the next day.
“Jaddu is fine. He is glad to be back with the team and wants to do well. He is excited about the season, “Saturday, a CSK official told. On March 31, the first game of the season, CSK will play the defending champion Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.
Rajat Patidar hasn’t been cleared for the IPL yet.
In other Royal Challengers Bangalore news, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not released Rajat Patidar, a key batsman for the Faf du Plessis-led team, for IPL duty. The 29-year-old is getting better at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru after hurting his heel.
The camp just started on Friday, so the franchise is still working with the BCCI and NCA to figure out how long the Madhya Pradesh batsman, who scored a quick century in the Eliminator last year, will be kept away from the team. On April 2, the Royal Challengers Bangalore begin their season at home against the Mumbai Indians.
