David Miller is one of the best cricket players at the end of a game. The player can easily take wins away from their opponents. But even though David Miller was known for his skills around the world, it took him a while to become a star in the Indian Premier League. The South African batter made his first appearance for Punjab Kings almost ten years ago. He played for the team for eight years before being let go.
Except for his first year in the IPL (2012), David Miller had some great games in 2013, 2014, and 2015. But the batter didn’t do so well over the next four years, hitting around 30 or below. David Miller was chosen by Rajasthan Royals in 2020, but he didn’t get much of a chance to do well. When he joined the Gujarat Titans team, his performance improved and he was able to do what was expected of him.

The South African batter admitted that he was getting his fair share of runs in international cricket, but that he wasn’t doing so well in the IPL. In an interview with ESPN Cricinfo, David Miller said that a few bad games don’t make it easy to miss games or get lost in the crowd. The 33-year-old said that he made up for his bad showing by working harder and believing in himself.
“I wouldn’t say that being a great athlete is easy. Outside of the IPL, I’ve done very well both abroad and at home. It’s just the IPL, where I kind of got written off after that one bad season. I was aware of what I could do. All that was needed was a really good run and chance. So I worked hard at training and tried to get better at playing. For me, the most important thing is how they think, not how they do things technically. But I’m probably going to try to play more on my back foot than on my front foot,” David Miller said.
David Miller’s last season was in 2022. He played in 16 games and got 481 runs. So far this season, he has scored 180 runs, for an average of 45. At the moment, Gujarat Titans have 12 points and are at the top of the table. The defending winners will play their next game at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur against the Rajasthan Royals.
