In the test against Australia in Ahmedabad, Virat Kohli did a great job by getting a hundred. This was his first century in a test match in more than three years, and Virat thinks it helped him feel more relaxed. During a conversation with AB de Villiers on the latter’s YouTube channel, the star batter said what was really on his mind. Virat said that scoring a hundred in the Ahmedabad test helped him feel more at ease with his game.

“So, when I made the hundred and converted it into a big one, that gave me a sense of calmness, relaxation, and excitement again. You kind of become comfortable with your game, and your thinking, and your heart is not rising before the next practice session. ” Kohli told on AB de Villiers’ YouTube channel.

“You eventually want to be in such a space. And that particular hundred gave me a grounded feeling back. Just from a cricketing perspective. In life, I was pretty happy and relaxed. But when playing also, you want to be in that space as much as possible,” the star batter said about his Ahmedabad test ton.

Virat Kohli’s last test ton before the Ahmedabad game
Before the game in Ahmedabad, Kohli hadn’t scored a hundred in a test since November 2019. At the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Virat had made a very important 136 against Bangladesh. The Bangladesh test was important because it was the first Pink Ball Test for Team India.

It took 41 innings and 1205 days for Virat Kohli to score his next hundred in the longest format of the game. At the same time, he had a hard time getting a hundred in shorter games until the Asia Cup 2022, when he did it against Afghanistan.

In the first three tests of the Border-Gavaskar trophy against Australia, Virat had the highest score of just 44 which made things tougher for him. In the fourth test, when the conditions were good for batters, he didn’t pass up the chance and went on to score 186 runs.

Team India is in the WTC 2023 final because they beat Australia in the Border-Gavaskar trophy by a score of 2-1. The Men in Blue will play Australia again in the final, which will take place from July 7 to 11 at the Oval. Team India will win the WTC 2023 final if Virat Kohli gets back into shape.
