India and Pakistan will play in the Women’s Asia Cup on July 21, 2024

It was believed that India and Pakistan will be paired together in Group A of the 2024 Women’s Asia Cup T20, which would take place in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, from July 19–28.

An eighth team has been added to the mix this year, in contrast to the last edition in Bangladesh in 2022, where all seven teams faced each of the six opponents in the league phase. Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates will join the most successful side in the competition’s history, India, together with 2018 winners Bangladesh, Pakistan, and hosts Sri Lanka.

The highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan match is slated for July 21. On July 19, however, India and Pakistan will play matches against Nepal and the United Arab Emirates, respectively. Group B comprises Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Thailand.

The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals, which are set for July 26 and July 28 respectively, before the championship game.

The timetable also conflicts with July 23, which is The Hundred 2024’s start date. As a result, players from India, like Smriti Mandhana of the Southern Brave, Richa Ghosh of the Birmingham Phoenix, and Chamari Athapaththu of Sri Lanka, who plays for the Oval Invincibles, may join their teams later than expected.
