IPL: SOUTH AFRICAN PLAYERS WILL MISS THE COMPETITION’S BEGINNING

Published:

South Africa is playing West Indies in a two-game test series right now. After that, they will play an ODI series against West Indies and the Netherlands. The series between South Africa and the Netherlands will make it take longer for South African players to join the IPL. IPL will start on March 31, and the CSA has told the BCCI how the South African players are doing.

The two IPL games are scheduled on the same days as the two games against the Netherlands. With the ODI World Cup qualification in mind, the ODI series is very important for the Proteas. So, after their national duties are over, the players will go back to their respective IPL teams. Up to six of the ten IPL teams could be affected by the change. In December, when the franchises asked the BCCI about foreign players, they were told that signed South African players would be ready to play on March 29, two days before the IPL season started.
