There were rumors that certain IPL teams had asked for their matches to be moved because of the approaching elections, and that members of the BCCI were even considering having the second half of the IPL held in the United Arab Emirates. But these rumors are put to rest by Shah’s response.
The dates for the general elections, which are set to take place in seven stages from April 19 to June 4, have been released by the Indian Election Commission. The BCCI is anticipated to announce the complete IPL schedule now that the polling dates have been finalized. As of right now, just the first 21 games’ dates—March 22–April 7—have been revealed. The first IPL match will pit the Royal Challengers Bangalore against the Chennai Super Kings.
