Joe Root, a former captain of England, is only the third player in the history of cricket to reach the milestone of 10,000 runs scored and 50 wickets taken in Test matches.

He accomplished the accomplishment during the second test match that is currently being played in Multan versus Pakistan.

When Faheem Ashraf was run out in the 70th over of Pakistan’s second innings at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Joe Root achieved the milestone by removing Faheem Ashraf from the game.

Faheem attempted to apply pressure on the ball despite the off delivery. spinner which was thrown up in the air. The ball twisted very slightly to take the edge of the batter’s plate, giving Zak Crawley an easy opportunity to make the catch at slips.

Root has joined the ranks of South African star Jacques Kallis and former Australian captain Steve Waugh as the only players to score 10000 runs and capture 50 wickets in the longest format of the game.

At this point in his career, Root had racked up 10629 runs and 50 wickets in test matches. Waugh has scored 10927 runs and taken 92 wickets, but Kallis is currently in first place with 13289 runs scored and 292 wickets taken.

In order to win the series, England has to take three wickets.

As a result of the visitors’ victory in the first test match, which took place in Rawalpindi. featured a score difference of 74 runs in their Favour, the current test match is in a precarious position.

At the lunch break on Day 4, Agha Salman and Abrar Ahmed were at the crease for Pakistan, and they needed 64 more runs to win the series.

Earlier in the day, Mohammad Nawaz and Saud Shakeel displayed a great deal of determination by taking the English bowlers for runs, which frustrated the English bowlers.

Even the spinners were unable to achieve any success, with Root being the only one to claim a wicket (that of Faheem).

Although England used the new ball as soon as it became available, it was difficult to stop the scoring of runs.

After some time, Ben Stokes passed the ball to Mark Wood, and Mark Wood used a strategy including a short pitch that was successful for the tourists.

The hosts are already reeling at 291/7 with Nawaz and Shakeel both falling victim to catches down the leg.

Stokes and company will have the advantage as they try to run over Pakistan’s tail and grab an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The momentum will be on their side.
