Jorginho, a midfielder for Italy and Arsenal, said in an interview confessed that he left Chelsea because he was no longer a part of their plans and that he joined the Gunners “in less than 48 hours” after leaving Chelsea for Arsenal.
The former Napoli and Hellas Verona midfielder made the move from their city rivals Chelsea to the Gunners on the final day of the transfer window in January. This move came six months before the end of his contract with Chelsea.
Jorginho stated that Mikel Arteta was one of the reasons he moved to North London during his first interview after joining Arsenal in February. The interview took place in February.
On Monday, he confirmed to DAZN that “it’s certainly one of the reasons” for his decision.
“He called me, and everything went very quickly; we finalized the deal in fewer than forty-eight hours,” she said. After a conversation with Chelsea, I was aware that they did not include me in their future plans. I wanted to advance in my career, and the Arsenal project seemed like it would be a good fit for me.
“It’s a young team, but they play good football, and it’s a good fit for my personality.” After taking into account all of the possibilities, I made my choice. When you are finished with a project, you must sometimes come to terms with the fact that everything eventually comes to an end.
Jorginho also discussed the parallels between Arsenal and Napoli in this season, and he admitted that he was unfamiliar with the name Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Despite suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Pep Guardiola’s team in London the week prior, Arsenal is currently in first place in the Premier League with a two-point lead over Manchester City as well as a game in hand.
Has the loss hurt Arsenal’s chances of winning the title?
Jorginho made the observation that “No if you look at the game, the decision was made in the penalty boxes.”
“At this level, you can’t afford to make certain errors when competing against these champions. They punished us for our mistakes and we deserved it.
He went on to say, “When the game was over, I felt confident because we had played so well.”
We did well because we were able to force Man City to play long balls, which is something that not many teams are able to do. Despite the fact that the outcome and the errors were both upsetting, we managed to keep our composure because we were aware of the many positive contributions we had made. When will we believe in it if we don’t believe in it now?
Jorginho played 213 games for Chelsea and scored 29 goals for the club. In January, he made a deal worth 13.5 million euros to join Arsenal, and he signed a contract that will keep him there until June 2024.
