“KARTHIK COULD NOT PROVE EVEN ONCE IN THE LAST EIGHT MATCHES.”- IRFAN PATHAN ON DINESH KARTHIK’S TERRIBLE RUN IN IPL 2023

Published:

Dinesh Karthik is having a rough time in the IPL 2023, which is having a big effect on how well his team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, does. Irfan Pathan, who used to be an Indian pacer, thinks that Dinesh Karthik has never shown that his team can count on him to make big runs.

In their last game, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost to the Kolkata Knight Riders because they couldn’t reach a score of 201 on a Chinnaswamy track that was good for batting. Irfan Pathan thinks that players like Dinesh Karthik haven’t been reliable, and he said that the team needs to find an answer before it’s too late in the tournament.

“RCB will have to find a solution that if KGF (Kohli, Glenn, Faf) do not work then who will steer the team through troubled waters. Whether Dinesh Karthik or Mahipal Lomror,” Irfan Pathan discussed with Star Sports about RCB’S batting lineup.

“RCB’s middle order looks very weak. Karthik could not prove even once in the last 8 matches that the team can rely on him for big scores or during chases. RCB management will have to fix this loophole in their batting,” the former Indian pacer pointed about Dinesh Karthik.

In IPL 2023, Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (who is captain), and Glenn Maxwell have been in great shape, but the middle order has battled in almost every game. Even though most of RCB’s games are played in Bangalore, which is a high-scoring ground, the middle order has only scored 404 runs in eight games.

Even though Dinesh Karthik has had 7 chances to bat in the cash-rich league, he has only made 83 runs. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s top order has always set the tone for the team, but their weak middle order hasn’t been able to keep up, which has cost the Faf du Plessis-led team a lot.

So far in IPL 2023, RCB has only won four games and lost eight. As of right now, they are sixth in the points table. Most of the other teams have decided on their playing XI, but RCB might want to think about how to get the momentum going again in the second half.
