KL Rahul bowled for 22 by Khaled Ahmed in 1st India versus Bangladesh Test

Stand-in captain KL Rahul was out for 22 off 54 balls in the first Test against Bangladesh in Chattogram on Dec. 14. The visitors won the toss and opted to bat first, but both Indian openers were out early.

In the 19th over, Khaled Ahmed bowled Rahul. His dismissal came when he cut a delivery onto his stumps. Bangladesh’s bowler bowled outside off stump. Rahul stayed still and hung his bat at an odd angle.

Since it was a nothing shot, the Indian captain could only draw it back into his stumps. The Indian batter’s countenance showed dejection when he heard wood. Rahul hit his bat with his glove as he walked back.

The 30-year-old batsman opened his tour of Bangladesh with 73. He’s since struggled. The right-hander was dismissed for 14 and 8 in subsequent one-day games before failing in the first innings of the Chattogram Test on Wednesday.

India lost the toss in the first Test against Bangladesh and were 48/3 after 20 overs. Gill was dismissed for 20 as his paddle sweep off Taijul Islam was caught at leg slip.

Virat Kohli was lbw for 1 for the visitors. He missed his flick off Taijul and was caught before the wickets.

KL Rahul India has three spinners.

In the first Test against Bangladesh, Rahul won the toss and batted first. India has three spinners and two pacers. Kuldeep Yadav joins Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel.
