Matthew Hayden, a former batter for Australia, has been selected as Pakistan’s team coach for the 2018 men’s T20 World Cup. He had worked as the team’s batting advisor during the UAE match in 2021.
PCB claims that Hayden’s presence in the locker room during Pakistan’s semi-final appearance against Australia last year motivated the team. Hayden worked backstage with Vernon Philander of South Africa as a bowling consultant. He will join the team on October 15 in Brisbane following Pakistan’s tri-series against Bangladesh and New Zealand.
