Pablo Zabaleta urges Argentina to start ‘electric’ player in World Cup final

Published:

Angel Di Maria hasn’t started Argentina’s last three World Cup games. Former Manchester City great Pablo Zabaleta feels coach Lionel Scaloni should start Di Maria if he’s healthy.

Zabaleta: “Di Mara should start if healthy. Di Mara’s play is unbalanced. He plays 60 minutes.”
In the absence of Di Maria, Lionel Messi has forged a superb partnership with Julian Alvarez. La Albiceleste beat Croatia 3-0 in the semi-final on December 14. Messi and Alvarez scored penalties.
Zabaleta, who played for Argentina from 2005-2016, commended Alvarez. (Goal)

“He’s playing up front with Lionel Messi, and it seems like he’s telling Messi not to run. I’ll help. This requires a huge heart. He started on the bench at the World Cup but was brilliant when he played. Andriy Shevchenko spoke on the France-Argentina World Cup final.
Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe will face off in the FIFA World Cup final on December 18. Both teams will play at Qatar’s Lusail Stadium.

Andriy Shevchenko recently told Sky Sports:

“Argentines love Messi. A great legend. He’s compared to Maradona and Pele. He should win the World Cup.”

Adding: “It’ll be a terrific tale, not only what he’s done but how he’s playing today. He’s a leader who plays well, scores goals, and passes to teammates. He’s a true skipper.”

Shevchenko:

“France has a solid, balanced team. Mbappe is a good player. Mbappe is the new Messi. Kylian has already won. It’ll be a fun game.”
