Right-back Nordi Mukiele studied his assist to Lionel Messi in PSG’s 2-0 Ligue 1 win over Angers SCO.

After winning the FIFA World Cup with Argentina last month, La Pulga returned to club play against Angers on Wednesday (January 11). Lionel Messi scored to end the game on his PSG comeback.

PSG led 2-0 after his 72nd-minute goal and Hugo Ekitike’s fifth-minute opener.

Ekitike, who assisted both PSG goals against Angers, explained Messi’s goal to the club’s official broadcaster after the match.

“And for the second one, for Leo, I knew he is a technically great player, and I just had to play it, and he finished, on his right foot, so I am really thrilled. “I feel much better today, but it’s just the beginning, it’s up to me to keep it going,” Mukiele added.

Ektike’s aim:

Assists? Before the first game, I encouraged Hugo to stay in the midfield because we need a man there for crosses. He finished when I put him in.”

The RB Leipzig defender, who played right-wing-back against Angers, joined Paris last summer for €12 million. He has assisted three goals in 21 games for Paris-based club.
