Christophe Galtier has ruled out Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi for Saturday’s match against AS Monaco. The French tactician confirmed that the former Barcelona player will play against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

Galtier told the reporters his two key forwards would miss the Ligue 1 match. The Argentine will return, but the Frenchman is unlikely to play against Bayern.

“Kylian was informed. We mentioned a three-week absence. Kylian receives treatment. Leo will train Monday after muscle fatigue. Bayern is definite.”
Galtier was asked again if Mbappe may return to Paris Saint-Germain for the UEFA Champions League next week: “Prioritize player wellness. Given the season’s length, I’ll monitor the player’s health.” Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi’s PSG futures?
PSG’s futures for Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi remain uncertain. The Frenchman allegedly still wants to join Real Madrid.
After rejecting the Spanish side last summer, the striker wants his dream move. He signed a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain but is apparently disgruntled and wants to join Real Madrid.

Lionel Messi is negotiating a new PSG contract. Former player Jerome Rothen warned the club on RMC Sport:

“Managing three is difficult. Wage bill follows. PSG has financial fair play issues. The wage bill has exploded. Because Messi makes a lot of money, you may recoup a lot there. It can help you build your team. Leo Messi’s extension is a terrible idea.”
