Rahmanullah, an Afghanistan batsman, has been fined for violating the ICC code of conduct during the England vs. Afghanistan ICC World Cup 2023 match. One demerit point was added to the keeper-batter’s disciplinary record as a result of the punishment.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz violated the ICC Code of Conduct at Level 1. “Abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an international match” is the term used to describe this. The batter-keeper received a fine for hitting the boundary ropes with his bat.

After being run out against England, Rahmanullah Gurbaz lost his cool. He was furious at his captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, and muttered something to himself as he was returning. He was punished for slamming his bat on the boundary rope and chair as soon as he got to the boundary flag ropes.

Jeff Crowe, umpire, issued the sanctions. Since Rahmanullah Gurbaz acknowledged the offense, a formal hearing was not required. One of the key players in Afghanistan’s crushing of England was the keeper-batter, who finished the game with 80 runs.

Afghanistan defeats England in Delhi, New Zealand vs. Afghanistan: Rahmanullah Gurbaz is penalized

Afghanistan won the ICC World Cup for the first time since 2015. At Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, they crushed the reigning champs by a margin of 69 runs. They put England under a lot of pressure and were dominant with the bat and the ball.

When asked to bat first, they amassed a total of 284 runs thanks to half-centuries by Rahmanullah Gurbaz (80) and Ikram Alikhil (58), as well as crucial hits from Ibrahim Zadran (28), Rashid Khan (22), and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (28).

They never once allowed England to lead with the ball back then. They continued to provide wickets on a consistent basis. With impressive bowling performances, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman bowled out the opposition for 215 runs, winning the match by 69 runs.

Afghanistan’s next match is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17, in Chennai, where they will play New Zealand. The Black Caps, who have won every game in the ICC World Cup 2023, will likely prevail since the pitch there will be favorable to their spinners.
