Rohit Sharma may not captain India in the second Test against Bangladesh, says Ajit Agarkar. The former Indian bowler thinks the visitors won’t make many lineup changes.

The two-match series concludes in Mirpur on December 22. KL Rahul and Co. won the first Test at Chattogram by 188 runs without their regular skipper.

Agarkar was quizzed on Sony Sports regarding India’s second Test alterations. he said:

“No news yet suggests Rohit Sharma won’t return. If he was heading to Bangladesh, we’d know by now.”

Agarkar doesn’t see India making batting adjustments without Rohit. Observed:

“His finger hasn’t entirely healed. If he’s not there, the bowling may fluctuate depending on conditions, but you’ve won the Test.”

Rohit damaged his thumb in the second ODI against Bangladesh. He returned to India to recover and has been ruled out of the second Test.

Ajit Agarkar thinks India may play an extra seamer if conditions alter.

Agarkar thinks Mirpur’s pitch won’t be as bat friendly as Chattogram’s. He is Expect changes. Batting was improved. Even in ODIs, batsmen found Mirpur hard.”

The cricketer-turned-commentator thinks India should play an extra seamer at Mirpur.

“Adding a seamer if seam bowling needs aid. Maybe one spinner will miss. I don’t think they’ll modify anything because the ball spun in ODIs. It stayed to the pitch and didn’t spin much.”

India may have to sacrifice a spinner if they add a seamer. Ravichandran Ashwin only took one wicket in the Chattogram Test, while Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel excelled.
