Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina recently praised Suryakumar Yadav, stating he should play in all three formats consistently.
The Mumbai-born player is a top T20I batter. The right-handed hitter will play the first two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia next month after making his ODI debut.
Raina thought Suryakumar should play all three formats in Test cricket.
“Absolutely,” Raina told JioCinema. He should play in all three formats, because without him, they shouldn’t exist. He played fearlessly, showed intent, planned shots, and knew how to use the ground.”

Suryakumar scored 5549 runs in 79 first-class matches, including 14 centuries and 28 fifties, at 44.75.
He looked good in the Ranji Trophy. He scored a brilliant 90 against Hyderabad and 95 and 38 against Saurashtra.

Raina boldly predicted that Suryakumar would achieve several hundreds and double centuries in red-ball cricket for India.
“He is a Mumbai player and knows red-ball cricket,” he added. I think he has a fantastic chance—playing Test cricket will give him another ODI establishment and solidity. He’ll get 100s and 200s.”
Suryakumar may debut in the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Nagpur on February 9.
