The seven members of PCB’s selection panel are Yousuf, Razzaq, Wahab, Shafiq, and an analyst

Four former Test cricket players make up the seven-member senior selection committee that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has assembled; however, the body does not have a chairperson. A data analyst has been added by the PCB to the committee alongside Mohammad Yousuf, Abdul Razzaq, and Asad Shafiq, which appears to be a fresh step. Wahab Riaz, the former head of selectors until recently, will be on the committee together with the captain and coach of the national team.

At a press conference held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, newly appointed PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the creation of the new selection committee. The national teams’ leaders and coaches are still a mystery, especially when it comes to white ball. It’s thought that the PCB is looking for a foreign coach. There appear to be a few applicants on the PCB wish list who have held varied jobs in India.

Although Pakistan’s current international engagements are limited to Twenty20 matches, which culminate in the Twenty20 World Cup in the US and the Caribbean in June, Shan Masood is the team captain for Test cricket. Although Shaheen Shah Afridi was previously named the T20I captain, he has not yet been officially named the captain for the forthcoming T20I matches.

Before the World Cup, Pakistan will play two games in Ireland and four in England. The first T20I series will take place at home between April 18 and April 27 against New Zealand.

“I have given the four former Test players on the seven-member selection committee the authority to choose the national men’s cricket teams for international competitions. I promise not to obstruct the selecting committee’s operations. The local media cited PCB chairman Naqvi as saying, “They are experienced and professional in their field, and I am confident that they will do their job with dedication and honesty.”
