Watch: Hardik Pandya’s ‘Let Nicholas Pooran Hit Me’ Remark Backfires as Batter Smacks Him for Back-to-Back Sixes in the IND vs. WI Game

In the fifth T20I, which decided the series, at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida, West Indies hitter Nicholas Pooran defeated Indian captain Hardik Pandya to claim the victory.

The entire season, Nicholas Pooran has been in captivating form. He has established himself as the deciding factor between the two sides, as practically every time he played, he contributed crucial hits that helped his team gain the upper hand.

The most impressive aspect of Nicholas Pooran’s batting has been his six-hitting skill, which has rendered even Hardik Pandya helpless. After the third game, the Indian captain made fun of the West Indies hitter and hilariously issued him an open challenge.

Hardik Pandya stated that Nicholas Pooran is welcome to smash him for sixes if he so chooses because he appreciates such a competitive environment following the third T20I. But in the ongoing fifth game, the West Indies hitter did just that, hammering the all-rounder for two straight sixes in the first over he bowled to the batter.

“Nicky (Pooran) didn’t come out to bat and that allowed us to keep our pacers back, also allowed Axar to bowl his four overs,” the Indian all-rounder remarked during the post-match awards ceremony.

“I enjoy such competition, so if Nicky wants to hit, let him hit me,” was the plan. In the fourth T20I, I know he will hear this and attack me hard, Pandya continued.

In the current 5th game versus India, Nicholas Pooran made a crucial play for the West Indies. The keeper-batter produced some lightning-quick strokes to put his team in the lead as they chased the 166-run objective. He hit 1 four and 4 sixes in his innings, scoring 47 runs off 35 balls.
