Spidercam fails miserably
At Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, two balls into the season’s opening match, the Spidercam failed. The broadcast’s spidercam, which was covering the game, broke and lay flat on the outfield, which resulted in the delay. The LSG players used the five-minute delay to have a quick conversation in a huddle before the engineers raced in to roll it back up.
The zing bails next.
After three overs, there was yet another unplanned break in play, this time because to zing bails. The bails had ceased working; they flash red when they are out of their groove. While the umpires ordered in replacement bails, forcing yet another delay in the PowerPlay, the hold-up allowed rookie hitter Sanju Samson to catch up to Yashasvi Jaiswal in the middle of the bat. The opening thirty minutes of play saw the completion of just four overs.
