Why David Warner should captain DC in IPL 2023

Delhi Capitals and Indian cricket were affected by Rishabh Pant’s accident.

Pant crashed on December 30. The wicket-keeper batsman will miss most of 2023 despite being in no danger.

Pant’s absence cripples Delhi Capitals.

Pant may miss IPL 2023.
DC’s think tank gave Pant the captaincy in Shreyas Iyer’s absence two seasons ago. He was named franchise captain after a strong performance.

Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting has always praised Pant’s tactical and batting skills.

Coach Ponting noted that his absence will be devastating for the team:

“It was terrifying for everyone, let alone him. He’s a contagious young man with the world at his feet. We’d like him even if he’s not fit to play. He should sit in the dugout with me every day.”
Pant’s injury forces DC to select a new captain for the Indian Premier League, since Iyer has joined Kolkata Knight Riders. David Warner, former SunRisers Hyderabad captain and T20 hitter, might lead the team.

Why David Warner should lead DC in IPL 2023
DC has an age-balanced squad. David Warner, with his experience, winning mentality, and tactical expertise, may be the best T20 skipper.

The Australian led SRH to their first title in 2016. That edition, he hit 848 runs at a strike rate of 150+, proving that leadership responsibilities improve his batting. He led the Hyderabad franchise to third place in 2020.

Warner will also help Prithvi Shaw, Sarfaraz Khan, and Chetan Sakariya develop. Warner started his IPL career with DC.
