Rizwan overcame cramps to score an unbeaten 131 and had a 95-run partnership with Saud Shakeel (31) to help Pakistan surpass Sri Lanka’s total of 344/9 in 48.2 overs. Shafique, playing in just his fifth ODI, slammed a 103-ball 113. With their second victory of the competition, Pakistan moved up one slot to second place behind leaders New Zealand in the points standings. Earlier, Sri Lanka posted a staggering 344/9 thanks to outstanding centuries from Kusal Mendis (122) and Sadeera Samarawickrama (108). Mendis scored 122 off 77 balls with 14 fours, 6 sixes, and participation in two century partnerships. For the second wicket, he contributed 102 runs with Pathum Nissanka (51), and for the third wicket, 111 runs with Samarawickrama.
