3 Bowlers From Maharashtra Premier League Who Could Get Picked At IPL 2026 Auction – Cricket.com

Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2025 was nothing short of entertaining in its 19-days and 34-matches long stay at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Gahunje, Pune. While veterans tried to reinvent their game, youngsters shone brightly as well, making it a rich cocktail of youth and experience that surely made the audiences go dizzy with quality cricket on display.
Here are three bowlers from the league who are not already part of the Indian Premier League (IPL), but could surely be brilliant candidates for the IPL mini-auction in 2026, ahead of the start of the next season of the richest cricket league in the world.

If Siddhesh Veer carried the Raigad Royals team on his shoulders to the finals in the bowling department, Tanay Sanghavi did so in the bowling, picking up 20 wickets in 10 matches at an impressive average of 14.35 and a strike rate of just below 10. His economy rate of 8.67 is not considered to be very bad in modern-day T20 cricket either.
Thus, the 23-year-old right-arm pacer has a huge chance of getting picked in the auction, mostly because of his lethal ability to pick wickets against all odds.

As was already told in the premise, the MPL was actually a great cocktail of youth and experience and it shows in the top contenders as well. A seasoned campaigner, Akshay Waikar, who could pick only 11 wickets in the nine innings that he bowled in for the champions Nashik Titans, was also exceptional with his control.
So not the mediocrity of being an average wicket-taker, but the meritocracy of being probably the best hold-up bowler in the league, with an unbelievable economy of just 6, which was at 5.8 before the final, could be Waikar’s way into the IPL Scouts’ diary and eventually an IPL team.

Not actually a control freak nor a wicket producer at will, left-arm pacer Nikhil Kadam brings something unique to the table and it is his skills. The 25-year-old's ability to swing the new ball into the right-handers and away from the southpaws makes him a sellable quantity in an IPL market ‘mad’ after left-arm pacers.
Kadam was amazing with the ball in hand, picking up 14 wickets, despite being wicketless in the final.
