MI New York (NY) take on Seattle Orcas (SEA) in match No. 9 of the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 at the Oakland Coliseum in California on Thursday, June 19.
Nicholas Pooran has not had a great start to his tenure as MI New York captain as the inaugural champions have lost their first two games so far in the tournament. They lost their opening fixture to Texas Super Kings by three runs. In their most recent fixture, MI New York suffered a three-wicket defeat against San Francisco Unicorns.
Meanwhile, Seattle Orcas have also lost their first two games of the season and are languishing at the bottom of the table, with a net run rate (NRR) of -3.890. NY’s NRR (-0.423) is much better when compared to that of SEA. Seattle lost to defending champions Washington Freedom by five wickets in their first game of MLC 2025. In the following fixture, they were beaten by Texas by 93 runs.

Obed McCoy has picked up only two wickets in as many games this season. However, he has bowled economically. He has conceded runs at an economy rate of 6. McCoy would want to create pressure on the opposition batters and hope that his fellow bowlers can capitalise.
