Chiefs Prediction is Bad News In 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Many folks are hopping off the Kansas City Chiefs bandwagon in 2025 with a host of reasons why.
Some think the talent isn’t there, while others believe the AFC West has improved, so the Chiefs won’t have it all their own way. Others think the Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles has marked the beginning of the end of the Kansas City dynasty.
All of which could be seen as valid reasons.
After a 15-2 regular season and winning the AFC, the Chiefs are still a formidable team, and until they fall off the proverbial cliff, we aren’t about to cut ties.
NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, who was a guest on the Rich Eisen Show, has the Chiefs taking a slight step back in 2025.
“To me, they’re going to be a playoff team,” Jeremiah said. “They’re going to be a 12-plus win team, I just thought 15 and two, I couldn’t get to 15 and two, so I would be more like 12. It feels more like a 12 and five type team to me.”
Now, a 12-5 season would be a “regression” based on last year, but that isn’t a big drop off.
Plus, we feel that a step back is inevitable given the Chiefs were 11-0 in one-score games in 2024, that can’t happen again, right? So the law of averages evens things out, but a 12-5 season would still make Kansas City a playoff team; we are just unsure where that would have them in the AFC seeding.
Still, that record will be nothing to sneeze at with the Chiefs coming into the season looking to prove a host of people wrong and that they aren’t about to finally drop off and sink into the chasing pack.
Jeremiah has Kansas City winning 12 games, and we think, right now, Chiefs Kingdom would take that.
