Fresh baggy green mystery as captain Cummins’ prized cap goes missing – Fox Sports

Australian captain Pat Cummins reportedly lost his baggy green less than 24 hours before last week’s Frank Worrell Trophy series opener in Bridgetown.
On Tuesday, the 32-year-old arrived at the pre-series photoshoot at Kensington Oval alongside West Indies skipper Roston Chase donning a new cap, having opted to replace his tattered baggy green instead of repairing it.
However, when Cummins returned the following morning for the toss, the New South Welshman was wearing his original baggy green, which he received in 2011 and was fraying at the peak, with white fabric sticking through the brim.
According to CODE Sports, Cummins’ new cap, one of the last remaining baggy greens manufactured by Albion, had gone missing, with the whereabouts still unknown.

Ahead of last year’s SCG New Year’s Test, veteran Australian opener David Warner issued a desperate plea for the return of his treasured baggy green after a backpack featuring the prized possession went missing in transit from Melbourne.
The search for his missing baggy green sparked a nationwide search and even caught the attention of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, but a couple of days later, a “pleased and relieved” Warner revealed he had been reunited with the precious hat, which he wore during his farewell Test in Sydney.
The second Test between the West Indies and Australia gets underway in St George’s on Thursday, with the first ball scheduled for 12am AEST on Friday morning.
