BROOKINGS, South Dakota — For the second consecutive year, South Dakota State University finished just short of winning the International Quarter-Scale Tractor Student Design Competition.Area students on the team included Evan Madsen, Okabena; Joseph Mohr, Jackson; and Isaac Knobloch, Rock Rapids, Iowa.
The SDSU Quarter-Scale Tractor Team, competing as the Jackrabbit Tractor Company, finished in a tie with Kansas State for second place. North Carolina State defended its 2024 title, finishing 26 points ahead of its Midwest competitors scoring 2,316 points out of a possible 2,405.

AMES, Iowa — More than 11,300 Iowa State University students were recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the spring semester Dean’s List. Students named to the list must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.

DULUTH — University of Minnesota Duluth announces its Dean’s List for spring semester. Students on the list achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while earning a minimum of 12 letter-graded credits.
Area students on the list include Emily Beckel, Jackson; Cassandra Chesley and Zachary DeBoer, Luverne; Annika Brinkman, Mountain Lake; Carter Holt, Pipestone; Amelia Sikel, Westbrook; and Caleb Kleven and Stephen Ngisa, Windom.
AUSTIN — Evan Lenz, Lismore, was named to the spring semester Dean’s List at Riverland Community College.
To be eligible for the dean’s list students must have completed 6 credits per semester and have earned a grade-point average of 3.25 to 3.74 on a 4.0 scale.
EMMETSBURG, Iowa — Iowa Lakes Community College recognizes students named to the Spring Honors Lists. This semester, 141 students were named to the President’s List, while 242 students were honored on the Dean’s List.

The President’s List celebrates students who achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average while enrolled full-time in 12 or more graded credit hours. The Dean’s List acknowledges full-time students who earned a GPA of 3.25 or higher with a minimum of 12 graded credits completed.
