The Indiana Fever (9–9) are set to return to action on Wednesday night when they host the Golden State Valkyries at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Indiana fell to Golden State just a few weeks ago—a game in which star point guard Caitlin Clark played. However, Clark has missed the Fever’s last five games due to a groin injury, bringing her total absences this season to 10 (including the Commissioner’s Cup).
There’s a possibility that Clark could return on Wednesday, and that hope gained momentum on Monday during an open practice for season ticket holders. Clark was seen participating in full 5-on-5 scrimmage action, a promising sign of her recovery and progress toward a return.

Fans were ecstatic to see Clark back on the floor with the team.
“Heeeee. she’s back, time to cook,” a fan said.
Someone else added, “Off ball action truthers are sleeping good tonight.”
Another fan posted, “We’re so back.”
One more fan commented, “guys i’m genuinely just so happy to see her playing again even just clips of a scrimmage.”
The Fever have managed to stay afloat without Clark, but after their recent loss to the Los Angeles Sparks, it became clear just how much more dynamic and effective the team is with her on the floor as the primary ball handler.
Through nine games this season, Clark is averaging 18.2 points, 8.9 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game, while shooting 39.0% from the field and 81.6% from the free-throw line.
On July 8, Clark will take center stage as one of the captains for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game. She’ll draft her team alongside the other captain and Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier.
