Cricket legends will face off against an Easingwold select XI in a special one-day match.
The Lashings International XI will face off against the Easingwold Cricket Club squad in a T20 fixture on Friday, July 18, at the Easingwold Cricket Club ground on Back Lane.
The fixture will offer an opportunity to reflect on nearly two centuries of cricketing heritage in Easingwold.
Ian Connell, chairman of Easingwold Cricket Club, said: "The club is the heartbeat of our town.
"There are families here whose names are etched in our scorebooks from the 1800s right through to 2024.
"This match isn’t just for the players—it’s for everyone who’s been part of our story."
Founded in 1829, Easingwold Cricket Club is believed to be one of the oldest in the area now known as North Yorkshire.
The match will pay tribute to the club’s heritage and the generations of families who have shaped its history.
Among those families is the Skilbeck family, whose involvement spans five generations.
Walter Skilbeck (1885–1979) played in the early 20th century, followed by Frank Skilbeck (1922–2005), and then Ken (born 1948) and Geoff (born 1949), who remain active contributors to the club.
Paul Skilbeck (born 1977) hopes to eventually play alongside his sons Elliot (born 2017) and Henry (born 2020), both members of the junior teams.
A club spokesperson said: "The Skilbeck family, not forgetting the support of the sisters, mothers, and wives, are part of the DNA of this club.
"Their story reflects the essence of Easingwold CC—loyalty, community, and a lifelong love for the game."
The day begins with a morning session for pre-schoolers from LiveWires Nursery, followed by a coaching academy for pupils from nearby primary schools and Outwood Academy led by the Lashings squad and the Easingwold Cricket Club junior lead.
Gates open at 12pm, with lunch and entertainment for legends, VIPs, and paying visitors starting at 1pm in the marquee.
The match begins at 4pm, with the Lashings team set to include cricketing greats such as Sir Curtly Ambrose, Sir Gordon Greenidge, John Emburey, Courtney Walsh, and Anya Shrubsole.
The event will offer a range of attractions, including a clubhouse bar, pop-up Prosecco bar, BBQ, open-top ice cream bus, bouncy castle, giant inflatable, and refreshments from the Easingwold WI.
Tickets and hospitality packages are now on sale.
