Ajinkya Rahane, who last played a Test for India in July 2023, still harbours the desire to represent the country in red-ball cricket.
“It’s good to be here. I still want to play Test cricket,” Rahane, who is currently at Lord’s for the third Test between India and England, said on Sky Sports Cricket.
“I am really passionate about playing Test cricket, and at this moment, I’m enjoying my game.
“I’m just here for a few days and carried my training gear to stay fit. Our domestic season is about to begin, so the preparations have started.”
Since being dropped from India’s Test setup, Rahane has featured in 21 first-class matches, scoring 989 runs at an average of under 30.
He has played 85 Tests for India, amassing 5077 runs at an average of 38.46, including 12 centuries and 26 fifties.
