The Dallas Mavericks have done a great job of retaining much of the talent on their roster.
However, unless Kyrie Irving is healthy, it remains uncertain if the Mavericks are true contenders in the Western Conference. When healthy, there's a strong argument to be made that the Mavericks have one of the better rosters in the NBA, but losing their All-NBA point guard certainly isn't easy to bounce back from.
Still, the Mavericks have done what they've needed to do, and there's a good possibility that they'll continue to make moves, whether it be with existing players who need new contracts or trying to trade others.
According to a recent report from NBA Insider Tim MacMahon of ESPN, the Mavericks are expected to get a deal finalized with P.J. Washington, a big forward who can knock down shots.
He later added that while a deal should be extended over the next month, Washington will likely sign something that will be very tradeable.
"I anticipate PJ [Washington] will sign an extension next month and I think it’s probably going to be at a number that he will be very tradeable,” he said.

There have been rumors that the Mavericks could move on from Washington during the offseason, but it makes more sense to have him sign this deal and trade him from there.
The Mavericks still have a few needs, but it remains uncertain exactly what they could be looking for now.
If Irving were healthy, those questions would be easier, but unfortunately, he isn't, and it isn't certain that he'll return for the playoffs next year.
