According to a report from L’Équipe, Liverpool have no intention of walking away from contract negotiations with Ibrahima Konaté (26). The Premier League champions remain determined to extend the  Frenchman’s contract at Anfield to deter interest from other clubs.
Konaté’s current contract with the Merseyside outfit is set to expire in 2026. Offers have been made to the entourage of the France international, but they have fallen short of their expectations thus far. With his contract expiring in less than a year, Real Madrid are interested in signing the 26-year-old, L’Équipe understands.
The Reds’ sporting director Richard Hughes is aware of the former RB Leipzig centre-back’s demands in order to extend his contract with the Premier League club. With Real Madrid swirling and plotting another free transfer, Hughes will have to act in order to keep Konaté at Anfield.
