British Open final round live updates, leaderboard: Scottie Scheffler, again, is way out in front at Royal Portrush – Yahoo Sports

The final round of the British Open is here, and it feels like it's Scottie Scheffler's to lose.
Scheffler enters Sunday's round with a massive four-shot lead at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland, which has him on the cusp of claiming his fourth career major championship and his first ever Claret Jug. The top-ranked golfer in the world fired a bogey-free round on Saturday with ease, and nobody else seemed able to even make a dent in his lead.

We've been here plenty of times before. Scheffler has won all three of his other major championships after holding a 54-hole lead. He's actually won his last nine tournaments when he's held the lead at that point of an event, too.
Scheffler will go off with Haotong Li, who got to 10-under on the week. Matt Fitzpatrick and Rory McIlroy — who is starting six shots back despite his own impressive 5-under outing on Saturday — will be in the penultimate group.
Scheffler's win on Sunday isn't guaranteed by any means. There is still a lot of golf left to be played. But the way he's going, it's going to take a lot of work for someone else to overtake him.
