Although the Detroit Tigers have a comfortable lead in the AL Central division, they have lost 10 of their last 11 games.
With a 60-44 record, Detroit will look to capture its first division title since 2014, but the Tigers have run into a rough patch heading into Friday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Although there's no need to make huge moves at the MLB trade deadline, MLB insider Jon Morosi believes the Tigers could make a move for Minnesota Twins outfielder Harrison Bader.
"A righty bat who's having a really nice season with the Minnesota Twins… He's got playoff experience. He's one of those energy givers. He's got pretty good power this season and can play all around the outfield," Morosi said on MLB Network.
Harrison Bader, 31, is in his first season with the Twins after signing with them on a one-year, $6.25 million deal last offseason.
Through 90 games this season, Bader's on pace to have his best hitting stats since he played for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2022.
With hitting stats that include a .251 batting average, .330 on-base percentage, .435 slugging percentage, and a .765 OPS while hitting 12 home runs and 38 RBI, Bader's ability to play throughout the outfield would be huge for the Tigers' depth.
Detroit's outfielders have also been struggling to stay on the field this season due to injuries. Outside of 2025 All-Star Riley Greene, center fielder Parker Meadows has only played in 36 games, Wenceel Perez has played 45, and Matt Vierling has played just 20 games in 2025.
