Asia Cup 2025 confirmed in UAE; India-Pakistan match likely to be played on September 14 – financialexpress.com

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday officially confirmed that the 2025 Men’s Asia Cup will be held in the UAE from September 9 to 28. The tournament will follow the T20I format and feature eight teams — Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Hong Kong.
The decision was finalised during the ACC’s annual general meeting in Dhaka. The tournament’s future had been under doubt of late due to military tensions between India and Pakistan. While Naqvi initially refrained from confirming the venue and dates, the ACC has now locked in both.
India, the official host of the tournament, will play their matches in Dubai as part of a neutral venue agreement between the BCCI and PCB. Under this three-year understanding, any tournaments hosted in India or Pakistan will provide neutral grounds for the other side. This arrangement was already tested during the Champions Trophy earlier this year, where India played all their matches in Dubai, including one against Pakistan.
According to India Today, the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan match is scheduled for September 14. However, official groupings have not yet been announced. Traditionally placed in the same group for commercial and viewership reasons, the format makes at least two Indo-Pak matches likely. There is also potential for a third match if both teams make it to the final. Notably, such a final has never occurred in the history of the Asia Cup.
India are the defending champions, having defeated Sri Lanka in the 2023 final. Sri Lanka, however, remains the last team to win a T20I Asia Cup title, beating Pakistan in the 2022 edition.

FoodPharmer, also known as Revant Himatsingka, shared a label-reading cheat sheet and debunked the myth that avoiding certain ingredients makes a diet healthy. He also warned about misleading terms like “natural” and “natural flavours”, and added that titanium dioxide in powdered food is linked to cancer.
