    Anmolpreet Singh scripts history – Punjab batter becomes fastest Indian to score a List A hundred – Sporting News

    Anmolpreet Singh broke into the record books on Saturday, December 21 as Punjab faced Arunachal Pradesh in Ahmedabad in their opening game of the Vijay Hazare Trophy which is India’s premier domestic one-day tournament.
    After winning the toss and asking Arunachal to bat first, they restricted them to 164 in 48.4 overs led by Mayank Markande’s 3/31.

    In response, Punjab lost the wicket of captain, Abhishek Sharma cheaply for 10(7) when Anmolpreet came into bat at 3 to join Prabhsimran Singh and scored an unbeaten 115 off just 45 deliveries while reaching the 100-run mark in just 35 deliveries, scripting the fastest List A ton for an Indian.
    As Punjab chased down the target in 12.5 overs, he also became the third-fastest centurion in the history of one-day cricket. See the record of the fastest centuries below.
