England were the second team to follow Australia to the knockout round after their nail-biting victory over India on Sunday, October 19.
The remaining two spots, however, are still open, with India, South Africa and New Zealand in contention to make the last-four stage.
The tournament has already given fans some unforgettable matches, close finishes and record-breaking knocks. Now, as the event nears its business end, all eyes are on who joins Australia and England in the semis.
Australia once again proved why they’re the most dominant side in women’s cricket. In their recent match against Bangladesh on October 16, they won the match by 10 wickets to book their semi-final berth.

Bangladesh batted first and managed 198/9. However, Australia’s bowlers didn’t allow the momentum to build. Alana King (2/18) and Georgia Wareham (2/22) controlled the middle overs brilliantly, while Ashleigh Gardner and Annabel Sutherland chipped in with crucial wickets.
In reply, Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield made the chase look very easy. Healy’s unbeaten 113 off just 77 balls and Litchfield’s 84* from 65 deliveries sealed the win in under 25 overs. This victory pushed Australia to 9 points from 5 games, with an impressive net run rate of +1.818.

The competition for the other two places is still very tight. As of now, India, New Zealand and South Africa are locked in a close battle. Here is how the standings currently look:
