Arsenal are facing Atletico Madrid as the Champions League action continues at the Emirates today.
Eberechi Eze hit the crossbar early on, with Declan Rice firing over from close range on the rebound.
15’ Arsenal 0-0 Atletico Madrid
Arsenal fans can be encouraged by this start, but don’t be fooled. Atletico Madrid were two down after 15 minutes at Anfield on Matchday One and brought it back to 2-2 before Liverpool’s late winner. Simeone’s side are streetwise, and can stay in games even if they don’t always appear to be the dominant team.

And what an opportunity.
Saka has a couple of chances to get a shot away but is closed down after working a nice bit of space on the right side of the box, before the ball eventually falls to Lewis-Skelly.
He gets over the shot and drives it low, but wide.
13’ Arsenal 0-0 Atletico Madrid
Saka's already got the beating of Atletico left-back David Hancko twice around the outside. The Fulham game at the weekend was a reminder of how relentless he can be in 1v1 situations, so Arsenal will hope that continues throughout the rest of the game.
12’ Arsenal 0-0 Atletico Madrid
To the surprise of absolutely no one.
He jumps to his feet and berates the fourth official after Lewis-Skelly makes a highly cynical foul to block… Diego's son Giuliano.
Exactly the kind of foul Simeone Sr loved as a player and loves as a manager. At least when it's not the opposition pulling it off!
9’ Arsenal 0-0 Atletico Madrid
Atletico have build a formidable defensive reputation under Diego Simeone over the years but they have looked a bit wobbly so far this evening.
Arsenal have plenty of energy and look to have the beating of their opponents in one-on-one scenarios, while Atletico have been sloppy in possession in their defensive third.
7’ Arsenal 0-0 Atletico Madrid
Strong start from both Arsenal full-backs.
Timber's got forward nicely twice already while, probably more importantly, Myles Lewis-Skelly has shown good bite and composure in midfield.
Eze's just had a shot deflected onto the crossbar which has really lifted the mood inside the ground.

Fair play to the away fans, they're making a hell of a din in the visiting end.
4’ Arsenal 0-0 Atletico Madrid
What a chance!
Eze drives forward and sees his shot deflected — and it has a tricky loop on it that leaves Oblak stranded.
The shot bounces off the bar and down to Declan Rice, who shoots into the ground and over.
Probably should do better from there.
3' Arsenal 0-0 Atletico Madrid
And the resulting free kick is very nearly an opening for Arsenal.
Jurrien Timber makes a good run in behind and tries to get on the end of the ball but it’s just too long and he can’t get the angle for a cross or shot at the byline.
Arsenal are looking lively.
2' Arsenal 0-0 Atletico Madrid
He’ll be feeling that one for a bit as Koke is late in a challenge and catches Zubimendi’s outstretched leg.
Later on in the game that might have been a card.
We are under way at the Emirates!
The home side get us going and immediately send it long to put pressure on their opponent’s back line.

Not long to go now until the start of this match — buckle up for the Champions League action and plenty of fireworks (possibly literally!) in this one…
It's full time in Barcelona and Almaty, Kazakhstan, with the two earlier kick-offs now concluded. Here's what happened:
Barcelona thrashed their opponents with five of the six goals shared between Fermin Lopez and Marcus Rashford, while Kairat were unable to win despite the visitors seeing Joao Correia sent off in the fourth minute.

Arsenal supporter Graham W predicted the above in our discussion board.
Hard to argue with that, really. Especially considering Atletico manager Diego Simeone was given a one-match ban for ‘unsporting conduct’ during the late 3-2 defeat against Liverpool in the first matchweek.
After Virgil van Dijk's 92nd-minute winner, Simeone had to be restrained by multiple stewards and Atletico coaches after appearing to be angered by home supporters sitting near the dugout.
And Mikel Arteta is no shy and retiring wallflower either. Just call it the Staying in the technical area: Mission Impossible derby tonight!
It certainly wouldn't be the first time Diego Simeone or Atletico Madrid used a slight imagined or otherwise to fire themselves up for a match.
Simeone is an expert at creating a siege mentality, a feeling of ‘us against them’ and mishaps like the hot water not working will likely feed his narrative.
The kind of thing Atletico players might be posting about cheekily on social media if they win tonight!
Ironic that Arsenal were in hot water on Monday, considering the lack of… hot water at the Emirates. Which Atletico Madrid complained about.
Atletico trained in the rain at the Emirates on Monday but the squad were unable to have a hot shower on the premises afterwards due to an issue which sources at the Spanish club allege went unfixed for over an hour.
The loss of hot water impacted both dressing rooms, with the issue resolved within 40 minutes of Arsenal being alerted to it and before Atletico had been due to finish training — but Diego Simeone’s side went back to their hotel.
The Premier League club apologised to their La Liga counterparts for the inconvenience.
