Detroit ― Not all billionaires are created equally.
Not in the wallet and, as it turns out, not in public perception, either.
According to a recent poll commissioned by The Detroit News and WDIV-TV (Channel 4), likely Detroit voters have varying views of the city’s two most-prominent billionaire developers. Dan Gilbert, founder and chairman of the board for Rocket Companies, is widely viewed favorably, while Christopher Ilitch, president and CEO of Ilitch Companies, is narrowly viewed unfavorably, according to the poll of 500 likely Detroit voters, conducted Oct. 16-18.
